itchy scalp/ Breakage

I have been natural for going on 3 years but it truly hasnt been easy and I would have to attribute it to being a product junkie. Im not sure what works for my hair and so for the past couple of months I have been on a quest. Unfortunately for me I should have started sooner. I have lost so much hair recently and its been so stressful. I believe that when my scalp started itching, that was when my hair began to break badly. I have decided to get rid of the SLS shampoos and start with the co-washing. Has anyone ever had this type of scalp or breakage issue? what products would you suggest for the itching/breakage. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
